Meet the Faith Formation Catechists 2019-2020

Janet Osada
I am a wife, mother of two sons, and grandmother of 7 children.   Presently I am a member of the guitar group and choir here at St. Charles.  I have experience as a Catholic Elementary school teacher and also as a former RCIA and CCD teacher.  As a member of the Legion of Mary, my past service included hospital, home and prison visitations. I have been a member of the Secular Order of Discalced Carmelites since 2000 and have been gifted with a great love of and devotion to Our Blessed Mother.  At home, I enjoy cooking, sewing and crafting. It is with much enthusiasm that I hope to help my students grow in their love of the Lord and of His Church.

 

Cindy Killion
My name is Miss Cindy Killion. I am teaching Grade 3 in Faith Formation this year.  I love teaching children about Jesus and preparing them for the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.  I have worked in the Faith Formation (CCD) program for many years here at Saint Charles, as well as, teaching full time and preparing children for these sacraments for 33 years in Saint Charles Borromeo Elementary School.

 

Karen Capie
My name is Karen Capie. I am a ‘68 graduate from St. Huberts, Phila. Pa. and I also attended Gwynedd Mercy College in ’72 with B.A. in a English and secondary level teaching certificate. I am married to Jerry Capie and have two children.I taught middle school grades for 2 years and while my children were in elementary school. I also held a part time job at the Bucks County Free Library Regional Headquarters,Doylestown, PA. After 27 years, I retired  with the Govt. Publishing Office. My volunteer work over the last 15 years includes: working on RCIA teams with Catholic adults, Christian adults and middle school age public school students and more recently, tutoring special needs children in Adaptive Faith Formation classes, and lectoring. I am an aide in the Faith Formation program with the Confirmation class, Grade 7. I love snowbirding to Florida to spend time with my friends at St. Ann’s, Naples,Fl. who are served by Oblates of St. Francis deSales. I am devoted to the Blessed Sacrament as a weekly adorer at OLF chapel.

 

Helene Boyle
I am Helene Boyle, a level six teacher I am married and have two grown girls. I’m originally from Our Lady of Fatima Parish. I have been teaching for well over thirty years. Last year, I taught one of my past student’s son. That was exciting for me. I enjoy the children and their questions and how they are eager to learn about their Catholic teachings and morals and the importance of prayer in their lives.

 

Kathy Smith
I am a wife, mother and grandmother. I’m one of eight children and family is very important to me.I am a retired teacher who enjoys growing plants, singing and playing guitar.  My favorite devotions are to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal,  Saint Rita, St. Theresa the Little Flower, St Anthony and St. Joseph.  I love to teach and to learn.

 

Jack Robbins
I am married and have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl (3 are married)  I lector and am a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Calvary week days and Sundays. I help the Sisters of Life a few days at their St. Malachi Convent.

 

AnnMarie Madrigale
I’ve been teaching prep for eight years, I’m married with 1 son who passed away and 3 three step children  all live with us . My husband and I are, O.F.S. third Order Franciscans Secular, St Francis of Assisi. I’m in a choir at St. Jerome’s and have been since 2004 . My husband has a music ministry which I am apart of and I am VP and now President Fatima Garden in Bensalem of Our Lady of Fatima worship sight.

 

Deacon Louis Quaglia
I was ordained June 2013 as a deacon of the Catholic Church. I am married with four children and three grandchildren. I have been facilitating RCIA since 1991. I graduated from St. Peter’s University with a B.S. in Chemistry and was a Lieutenant Commission in the Army Reserve. I served four years of active duty – three in Germany and one in Texas. I moved to Bensalem and became a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in 1983. I retired from manufacturing in 2016, having spent the last 28 years working for Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. I enjoy science fiction movies and reading, Italian and Mexican food, football and soccer My hobbies are home repair, woodworking, and O-gauge model trains. The most important decision in your life is when you decide if you are going to live it to help people or hurt people. This makes the rest of your decisions easier.

 

Safe Environment Program

All of the Parish Staff, Faculty, Employees, and Volunteers must complete a public record background check and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Safe Environment training for the protection of children and vulnerable people.
